I am no longer smug about supposedly missing the worst of the winter by staying in Perth for so long. We just went for a walk in the park - I looked out of the window and saw that it was sunny with blue skies, just how cold could it be? We lasted ten minutes before the gale force winds blew dark grey clouds over us which unleashed a storm of driving, icey snow upon us. Here is the view from the bathroom after having fled indoors!

And so...here we are back in the UK. It took 8 very long, exhausting, scream-filled difficult nights to get Sophia back onto UK time, and longer to get her used to being here in the house and with Stu. Everything but me is different for her, I can't imagine how confusing it must be to such a small child. It is only the past few days she has gone back to her usual smiley, happy little self. The flight was no problem, she cried about two minutes out of 20 hours travelling, slept almost 7 hours, and the Emirates staff were stellar in giving her cuddles and giving me a break for five minutes here and there. As for me, well, let's just say I'm dreaming of beaches and am taking a bit longer to process being back here.

Look - 2 teeth!
